Explosion!!

I haven't written on here for a while, its been a busy few weeks getting back to work!

There was a bit of drama involving the champagne....a bottle exploded! I went over Rhys, it went over the kitchen, it went everywhere. We are still finding little sticky bits of where the champagne landed.

Lesson learned...never reuse plastic bottles to make something fizzy, glass are the best!

Poor Rhys, well at least Ronnie was in bed!

Finished Elderflower Champagne!

I needed to add some yeast as the concoction was not fermenting, so bread yeast was added (I know! Probably not the best, but it works!) maybe a little too much!

I didn't take a picture of the fermented brew as it looked a little gross, but here is a picture of the finished bottles!

It was fizzing while I poured it in, so I'm sure it will explode when I open it!

Elderflower Champagne

Ronnie and I went on a scavenger hunt today and found some impressive elderflowers at the playground. We started picking in front of a large collective of children and parents enjoying the sunshine and we probably looked a little daft, but I don't care!!

After a little go on the swings and slide we came home and I made a batch of Hugh FW's Elderflower Champagne. It smells lovely! Its just water, sugar, lemon zest and juice, white wine vinegar and elderflower heads. It makes about 2% proof but tastes pretty good in the middle of summer.

So for the mo here is a picture of it beginning to ferment on the kitchen table (using one of Ronnies muslin!) and after a couple of days it should get a bit frothy and foamy!

I will try and get photos as it ferments.

So next time....mouldy elderflowers!

Bunting

I've always been a bit of a craft nerd and so thought I would use my blog to show bits I've made. Some good, some not so good!

I promised a friend I would make her something for her new craft shop and cafe. I had a few ideas and then Bunting came to mind.

Way too much bunting.... I've got a bit trangled out but love making it!

So me, Rhys and Ronnie went for a walk looking for hedgerows to take picures of the bunting in, looked a little bit silly but I'm pleased with Rhys' photos!

Next project.....elderflower champgane, yummy!

Hello!

Ok, so here begins a little insight into my day to day life. I don't imagine it will be the most amazing blog but thought I would send out a little bit of my existence into the stratosphere.

I am nearly thirty (oh dear), I have a lovely husband and a baby boy who is eight months old.

Life has been pretty wonky over the last few months, but I have enjoyed every moment of it and now I have found my feet and fallen in love with motherhood, I thought I would start sharing parts of my world.
